Safety
&
Behavior Policy
At Barks & Bubbles Pet Salon LLC, the
safety and comfort of your pet — and
myself — is always
my top priority.
I work hard to create a
calm, clean, and stress-free environment where dogs of all breeds and personalities can feel secure during grooming.
To make that possible,
I ask pet parents to understand and support
my Safety & Behavior Policy.
Creating a Safe Grooming Environment
For all grooming services, dogs must be current on the following:
- My salon is sanitized between every appointment.
- We use professional grooming tables, dryers, and restraints designed for pet safety.
- Pets are never left unattended while on grooming tables or in tubs.
- Tools are cleaned and disinfected after each use
We take every precaution to ensure your dog is safe and comfortable from check-in to pick-up.
Behavior Considerations
I understand that not all dogs love grooming. Some may be nervous, shy, or even reactive — and that’s okay. I'm trained to work with pets of all temperaments.
However, for safety:
- If a pet shows extreme aggression or risk of harm to themselves or others, I may need to stop the service.
- Mild restraint may be used to ensure safe handling.
- In some cases, I may recommend grooming under veterinary supervision or sedation (done by a vet, not by me).
Our goal is always to complete services safely, not forcefully.
Pet Parent Responsibilities
To help me groom your pet safely, I ask that you:
Inform us of any behavioral issues, such as biting, fear of dryers, or nervousness.
Let us know about medical conditions (arthritis, seizures, allergies, etc.).
Arrive on time with your dog leashed or crated.
Provide emergency contact information in case we need to reach you during the appointment.
Transparency allows us to provide the safest, most comfortable grooming experience possible.
Handling Special Needs Dogs
I welcome dogs with unique needs, including seniors, puppies, and rescues. We takes extra time and patience with:
Senior dogs needing gentler handling and shorter sessions.
Anxious or nervous pets who benefit from calm voices and gradual introductions.
Rescue dogs who may not be used to grooming environments.
Every pet is treated with patience, respect, and kindness.
Why Our Safety Policy Matters
These policies aren’t just rules — they’re safeguards. They protect:
- Your pet’s well-being – No unnecessary stress or risk.
- Other pets in the salon – Healthy, safe interactions at all times.
- Our groomers – A safe workplace means better care for your dog.

Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if my dog bites or becomes aggressive?
For safety, we may stop the service and ask you to consult your veterinarian about future grooming options.
Do you use muzzles?
Yes, but only if necessary for safety. We use them as a last resort and always ensure they are comfortable and humane.
Do you sedate dogs?
No. Only a veterinarian can legally and safely sedate a dog. If your pet requires sedation, you will need to arrange that with your vet.
How do you keep the salon safe for pets?
We follow strict cleaning and handling protocols, disinfect all tools, and never leave pets unattended on grooming tables or in tubs.
